Assigning a Subnet to a Beacon

You can assign any unassigned subnet to a beacon. Once assigned, the beacon knows the subnet where it should look for target devices to collect inventory information. To assign a subnet to a beacon:

  1. Go to Inventory > Network Discovery > Unassigned Subnets.
  2. Select the check box corresponding to the subnet that you wish to assign to a beacon.
  3. Click Assign to a beacon. IT Asset Management displays the list of existing beacons.
  4. Select the check box corresponding to the desired beacon and click Save. For more information on beacon properties, see Beacons.
    • The selected subnet has been assigned to the selected beacon.
